Day 2
Anuradhapura

Visit temples and ruins at Anuradhapura – the capital of ancient kingdom Rajarata. Around 100 after Christ, Anuradhapura belonged to the 10 biggest cities in the world with around 130.000 inhabitants

We drive to is a mountain peak near Anuradhapura and one of the oldest Buddhist places in Sri Lanka. It is believed to be the site, where the Buddhist monk Mahinda meets king Devanampiyatissa, who allowed the presence of Buddhism in Sri Lanka

See Kalu Diya Pokuna near Mihintale – an old lake and beautiful place to rest. The pond surrounded by large boulders and small archaeology sites, the shadow of surrounding trees give this lake its name “Black water”.

Anuradhapura - Trincomalee

We drive east to Trincomalee and enjoy at Nilaveli beach

Visit a hot-water spring-well – where the people gather to wash and fill up the water

If you like, you can do a snorkeling-boat-tour to the Pigeon Island National Park around 1 kilometer off the coast near Nilaveli. It is one of the two marine National-Parks of Sri Lanka. The island's name derives from the rock pigeon and the Park contains some of the best remaining coral reefs of Sri Lanka

Day 5
Trincomalee - Sigiriya

Let’s have a Trincomalee city-tour and see Koneswaram Hindu-Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva near the Indian ocean.

We drive to Sigiriya and see the impressing Aukana Buddha statue – more than 12 meters tall and carved out of a large granite rock during the 5th century

Sigiriya

Visit Sigiriya Rock and observe the Frescos and Fortress- best time is 7. 30AM

Visit the ruins of Ritigala – an ancient Buddhist monastery

Polonnaruwa - Nationalpark

We drive to Polonnaruwa and visit the ancient ruins – one of the ceylonese capital cities, surrounded by a fertile landscape. The ancient city of Polonnaruwa has been declared a World Heritage Site

Safari at Minneriya or Kawdulla Nationalpark to see real wild elephants

Day 8
Sigiriya - Kandy

On the way to Kandy you see Dambulla cave temples - UNESCO world heritage since 1991. And if you like we can visit a Hindu temple nearby.

Kandy

In the morning you can have great fun at a Kitulgala Water-Rafting tour. I cooperate with very professional and friendly team, providing new and checked equipment

We drive to Kandy and visit the famous Buddhist Sri Dalada Maligawa Temple, walk through the old town and enjoy the Botanical Garden of Peradeniya

If you are interested, you can visit a Silk Factory or a Batik Factory – or you decide for a Gem Mseum and work shop

Kandy - Nuwara Eliya

We travel to Nuwara Eliya and see the Ramboda waterfalls

On the way you visit a tea plantation and factory - the biggest and most famous companies settle around Kandy. You will see tea plants up close, how the leaves were picked, manufactured in different qualities and packed for auctions

Nuwara Eliya - Ella

You can go hiking at Horton plains – a wonderful landscape at an altitude von more than 2.000 meters above sea-level. Three major Sri Lankan rivers, the Mahaweli, Kelani and Walawe rise from here.Most spectacular is „Worlds end“, a famous cliff with a drop down hundreds of meters

In the afternoon (3.00PM) you will have a wonderful train-journey from Nanu Oya (near Nuwara Eliya) to Ella – and see the phantastic landscape around. We drop you to the station Nanu Oya, take all your luggage and pick you up at Ella again.

Ella - Small Adams Peak

Spend a relaxed day at Ella

Climb Small Adams Peak or Ella Rock and enjoy the wonderful view – a walk up not only for sporty people

Ella - Nine Arch Bridge

Visit the city of Badulla and see Dunhida waterfalls

You see Mahiyangana Temple – very important for buddhist people. We believe, that it is the first place Lord Gauthama Buddha visited in Sri Lanka

After that you see Nine Arch bridge built like a viaduct - it is one of the best examples of colonial-era railway construction in our country

Ella - Yala Nationalpark

Visit the Rawana waterfalls and travel to Yala Nationalpark, where you can have a jeep-safari – the oldest park near the Indian Ocean in the south. Yala is famous for its variety of wild animals, especially Drive to Yala - if you like: we do morning-safari at Yala

Yala Nationalpark - Mirissa

We start to Mirissa, on the way you can relax at Thangalle beach

You see Dewundara light-house at Dondra Head, the southernmost point of Sri Lanka

Visit Matara Island Temple - the walk over the bridge with water around and high waves is an amazing experience and later you have a great view back to the coast

Have a funny trip and see water shooting high up out of a small opening in a rock, the Hummanaya blow hole – considered to be the second largest blow hole in the world

If you like you can do a Whale-Watching-Tour starting at Mirissa: Whales and dolphins gather around the south-coast of Sri Lanka the whole year, because the sea offers rich food supply

If you are interested, you visit a Sea-turtle-farm – home of different kinds of sea turtles. It is a conservation project, which releases young or wounded turtles to the wild, when they are fit enough again

Mirissa - Galle

We go on travelling and visit Galle Dutch Fort – built from 1588 on from Portuguese and Dutch colonialists. Have a walk around and visit all the reconstructed places

It is possible to have a trip to Madu lake, where you’ll get a scenic cruise along the river, passing dozens of islets and endless aeras of green mangrove trees. If you are interested in a challenge, you can have some fun and get a fishfoot-therapy on the spot

Climb Yatagala Raja Maha Viharaja – a small cave-temple more than 1.500 years old with an ancient Budha statue, slowly fading Wall Murals opening a window to srilankan history and a Bodhi Tree

Blue Moonstones anywhere in the world usually originate in Sri Lanka – at our coast we have the world’s primary source of the wonderful blue gems. We visit a mine, where people work in a few waterlogged pits and take out moonstones by hand like in former times. By interest we visit some other places.
