Surf Tour

Throughout the year you can go swimming on Sri Lankan coasts or water sports. During the monsoon season high waves and some stormy winds can be expected. Between April and October the east coast is recommended for a beach holiday, from November to March rather the west and south coast.

Traditionally, tourism has developed furthest on the west coast , as is the proximity to Colombo and the international airport. In the south, it is a little quieter - here you can also watch dolphins and whales, who benefit from the special situation of Sri Lanka and the wealth of krill in the southern waters. The east coast is popular with surfers - a hot spot here is Arugam Bay.
